New Features and Other News

Hi Everyone; I just wanted to go through some new toys we can play with:

• Calendar: Here you can post events that might be of importance to the community (for example, tournament dates/announcements).  This feature is intended for mock trial related events. All other types of events will be deleted by the mods.
  
• Profile Changes:  Profiles have gotten a boost.  Not only can you view global stats, but you can also look at individual member stats.  You can also add your own birthdays which will show up on the calendar.  Additionally, you have random little things in your profile like enabling or disabling quick reply, custom titles, etc.
  
• Karma: Karma is a little experiment I'd like to try out, at least for a while, to see how this will work.  You have the option of burning or raving someone for a good or bad post.  Right now, the only real impact of Karma will be allowing users to see community opinions of posters based on their contributions (ideally).  Eventually, I'd like to work into the system a way of hiding posts which have a lot of bad karma automatically.
  
• Misc: There are also tiny things to play around with all over the place.  I'll leave you to discover those.
  

Also, don't worry about the front page being gone.  It'll eventually come back, as soon as I have more time to play around with it.  In the mean time, if you see anything wrong, let me know.  If you have general feedback, I'd like that too

Just wanted to comment that the site looks better than ever and is now VERY user friendly.  Props to you and your people my man.

CONGRATULATIONS!   Over 2000 posts in February, 80 new members, 60+ new topics.
Can I safely assume these are all record numbers?

Your board has really taken off!  Thank you for this incredible service you have provided to the mock trial community!

I'll agree that the board has been insanely busy lately, but I'm not sure whether the number of posts, in particular, is a record. I've been around here for most of this board's history of 4+ years. There have been other times where the board has probably been equally busy, and the Community forum used to be much busier, too.

There used to be a statistics page that could give us some answers, but now I can't find it.

EDIT: I found the page. Unfortunately, it looks like the stats regarding posts by month only go back to the most recent software switch. But at least we all kept our post counts.

I am a new user of the website, but I had the opportunity to see the way it was before and I can honestly say that now it is much more welcoming. I really like it.
