3 votes per person.  Tournaments listed chronologically.  Let me know if I've omitted any invitationals with great names.

The one I don't get is ASU's. What's their mascot?

What?! No Demon Deacon Invitational Tournament, shortened to DDIT, cleverly also being my initials? And I get no love?! I Demand a recount! *aghast*

They are the Sun Devils.  The reasoning behind the "Revolution" title can be found here: http://www.perjuries.com/bbs/index.php/topic,3270.msg150366.html#msg150366.

Florida Republicans don't get to ask for recounts, Don.

Technically our tournament is The Cornshucker Challenge, not just The Cornshucker, minor note. I kind of like the truncated version: "Shucker"....

I personally liked GAMTI better when it was GAMTIT.

That was long before my time. :)

The original name that I came up with for the BRIC was the Big Red Eastern Annual Super Tournament or The BREAST...The coaches shot down that idea, so we went with our number #2...

I still haven't gotten over it.

I'd like to echo a few other tournament hosts (Don etc..) in expressing my disappointment that my tournament (The Carolina Classic) was not included.  Granted we cannot compete with The Revolution...but still....stings a little.  :-(

Another minor clarification.... NYU's tournament is The Downtown Invitational Classic or more simply, The DIC.

Why isn't my Kangaroo Court Challenge on the list?

Because I screwed up.  I forgot about the Kangaroo Court Challenge, an invitational with one of the most creative names.  I also forgot about the Billiken Barrister Invitational and Columbia's "Big Apple."  I thinK I drew the list from the one compiled in another thread; I should have checked the AMTA website for a more extensive list.

(However, I stand by my omissions of the Carolina Classic and DDIT.  These are fine tournaments, of course, but there is little exciting about their names -- just mascot and location.  Though, as I said a few days ago, this also calls into question my inclusion of Cornell's and Harvard's tournaments.)

Let's not forget other features of Cornell's tournament, like the easy to remember acronym (BRIC) or the awesome graphic of a bear busting through a brick wall that is used to advertise the tournament (Big Red used to be an actual bear that Cornell had on the sidelines at football games before it mauled someone....probably Prog)
